People of all cultures will be able to donate blood Wednesday at the Assyrian-American Civic Club.
The Assyrian-American Community of Stanislaus County and the California Donor Transplant Network will hold a blood drive from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday to benefit Dylan Arnet Givargiznia, 6, of Turlock.

"It's a multi-cultural event," she said. "We're hoping hundreds of people show up."
Givargiznia, the son of Stephanie Lyon of Modesto and Arnet Givargiznia of Turlock, was diagnosed with leukemia in April. The Crowell Elementary School students is receiving treatment at a UC San Francisco hospital.
The blood drive will be conducted by Delta Blood Bank. Donors will receive a pint of Baskin Robbins ice cream for their donation.
