MODESTO – On October 19, 2006, on KFIV Radio’s Bill Mick Live, Republican Congressional Nominee John Kanno challenged his opponent to a debate at the Merced Lowes on Olive Avenue On October 21 at 10:00am. The challenge was issued after Cardoza failed to appear at a second candidate forum.
America has a grand tradition of political discourse. Long will we remember the Lincoln Douglas debates and the Kennedy Nixon debate of the 1960. This is a tradition that Dennis Cardoza has sought to ignore this election season claiming that he is too busy to appear before the voters.
“Dennis Cardoza has failed to show up for two debates now. He says that he is too busy doing other things. In two editorials it has been stated that he spends his Saturday mornings at Lowes, so Dennis, I’ll make it easy for you, I’ll be at Lowes this Saturday at 10:00am and we can have our debate then,” said Kanno.
“Every campaign should have a great debate where candidates come together and present our ideas to the voters and help the people make an informed decision when they vote. Dennis doesn’t want to stand before the people and be accountable for the things he has done in Congress,” said also John Kanno.
